Morning broke over the rooftops and the barking from Ferraras stray dogs echoed throu the narrow streets and faded in a distant morning mist. The two proud Knights of the Round Table was slowly awakenig to this fresh and misty day Rodolfo, who was sleeping on a waferthin meditationblanket had of course been awake for quit some time. Strangely The Knights who were in the bedroom was a bit tired and a bit fatigue strange, very strange! Cigars and tonic's have some impact on a weary mind in a broken body. This was the morning of the eleventh day of the tour. Rodolfo gave us a typical Italian kind of breakfast. We bought some small cups af Italian Coffee and some domestic heated sandwich, melted cheese, ham and a sweet bread. We bought some more cigarettes and hugged Rodolfo fare well!
We consulted Our internetprinted roadmap and set of north to Austria. We did'nt go the ordinary way, the autostrade way, oh no that's to easy! Both Stefan and Me has a certain respect for hights, not that it is a problem, after all we've been to the top of Kebnekaise (2119m) together. So that's not a problem. But when the roads are built by someone You dont know, when theres been a storm in the alps just a few weeks ago, then You get frightend by the hights, that's a fact. So the narrow mountainroad that we climbed with Our Volvo made Us giggle nervously, It made Us very tense and silent. But We made it, despite the cracks on the asphalt, despite the fact of missing fences Up over the moutain pass and in to the land were the hills are alive with music Austria! We had an old truck behind us on the way down, the driver was smoking cigarettes and could'nt care less about using the breaks, so we had just two options, get a truck in Our ass or step on it!!! In the afternoon we finally found Saalbach Hinterglem and the hotel belonging to Gernaut "Stephen King's the Shining " Auer. His hotel, the sonnenalp, was not yet opened for the season, he was preparing and planning for the season to come. We were given a double double room each! Stefan had a double bed, I had a double bed and we had a room big enough to hoast well at least the whole damn entire population supposed to participate at the Euromeeting of 2004 in Amager at least, and that is not an överdrift. Both Stefan and I thought we've passed a line here. How much is brothers prepared to do or give to each other?! We were touched by the hospitality and we went to bed for a few hours. ( Are we gettig old perhaps? Seems like napping and sleeping is all we do all over Europe!)
In the evening after the nap and the shower, we went down to Sell am Zee and to the hotel hoasting tonights meeting. Straight away we saw Joseph He is best described as a two metre high Yeti! But he claimed him self to be the schapsman number One in Sell am Zee, well, he hasn't been to a Euromeeting in Ferrara with Stefan and Basse thats for sure! Say no more But we promised to give him a game of schnapsing later on.
The night continued down town Sell am Zee They gave us quite a night out. But Stefan had plans for tomorrow, so he said to me: "Basse, we are leaving for Roskilde tomorrow morning, I'll wake you up att five O'clock. " Oh You sun of a gun" A replied. I continued to drink and party with the Austrians. And when the clock was three in the morning a went to bed IT IS NOT FUNNY WAKING UP TWO HOURS LATER!!! I did'nt sober up until we were in the misty morningshades of München It takes quite an effort after almost two weeks on the road to wake up and get back to life, but with only Roskilde left to do, one can find the strength somewere deep in your soul to walk on, the body is not responing to the signals from the brain so just rely on Your soul and Your tabling spirit rely on the Holy Austrian Graal I hope that some one will turn up at the Euromeet, cause we have a lot to give back!!!
Waz up? Not much... :-) |
